Crossmint, the blockchain infrastructure company that powers on-chain solutions for major brands like Adidas and Red Bull, has secured $23.6 million in fresh funding to advance its vision of simplified blockchain adoption and AI-powered commerce.

The investment round was led by Ribbit Capital, with additional backing from institutional investors including Franklin Templeton, Nyca, First Round, and Lightspeed Faction, as announced on Tuesday.

With over 40,000 users already on its platform, Crossmint has established itself as a gateway for companies seeking to integrate blockchain technology without extensive coding requirements. The platform enables businesses to easily implement wallets, tokenization features, and payment systems as they transition their operations to blockchain networks.

What sets Crossmint’s vision apart is its focus on creating infrastructure for AI-driven commerce. The company is developing specialized wallet and payment APIs designed specifically for artificial intelligence agents.

“AI agents are reshaping commerce. Soon, they will autonomously manage tasks like grocery shopping or personal styling,” explained Alfonso Gomez-Jordana, co-founder of Crossmint. “Traditional payment systems weren’t designed for AI agents—but blockchain is.”

This intersection of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence represents a potentially significant shift in how digital transactions will function in the near future, with autonomous AI agents requiring secure, transparent payment mechanisms to execute transactions on behalf of users.
